Terms of Service

Effective October 1, 2026

These terms apply when you use the Rocket Design Lab app (on iOS, Android, or the web) and rocketdesignlab.com (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by Rocket Design Lab, a sole proprietorship owned by Ian Dalton, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Your account

You need an account to use most of the Service. Keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity on your account. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and at least 13 years old. Tell us at support@rocketdesignlab.com if you think your account has been compromised.

2. Rocketry safety: read this

Rocket Design Lab is a planning and record-keeping tool. Its simulations, stability margins, ejection-charge, vent-hole, ballast and other calculations are estimates based on the data you enter and on simplified models. They can be wrong. They are not a substitute for your own judgment, testing, manufacturer instructions, or the safety codes that govern your flights (including the NAR and Tripoli safety codes, your certification level, and FAA and local rules).

You are solely responsible for the design, construction, inspection and safe flight of your rockets and for complying with every law and safety code that applies. Always verify critical numbers independently, ground-test recovery systems, and follow your range safety officer.

3. Pro subscriptions

4. Your content

You own the designs, flight records, photos and other content you put in the Service. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run the Service for you, and to use de-identified, aggregated data to improve features such as motor and kit recommendations, as described in our Privacy Policy. You're responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the Service. In particular, don't:

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

6. Third-party data

The Service includes data from third parties, such as motor specifications, kit catalogs, weather and imported design files. We don't guarantee that data is accurate or current. Check critical values against the manufacturer's published data.

7. Changes to the Service and these terms

We may add, change or remove features. We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll update the effective date and tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, you accept the new terms.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a store subscription automatically, so cancel it with Apple, Google, or through your web receipt as described above. We may end or suspend your access if you break these terms or if we discontinue the Service. If we discontinue the Service, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its calculations are correct.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Rocket Design Lab and its owner are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, property, or injury, arising from your use of the Service or of any rocket, motor or recovery system, including anything designed, built or flown using information from the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Nevada, except where the consumer-protection laws of your home country give you the right to bring a claim locally.
